Training Evaluation

Evaluation of workplace training is one way for you to obtain academic credit through Experiential Learning. In general, the more related your training is to your intended major or degree program, credit awarded through the training evaluation option is more likely to be beneficial to you.

Each training experience must be comparable in scope and depth to a college-level course and be at least 35 hours in duration. Due to substantial involvement of staff and faculty in the review process, decisions on training evaluation may take up to 30 days, particularly if the training has not been evaluated by the American Council on Education (ACE).

To have training evaluated, please complete and return the Training Evaluation Request. It may be downloaded from our Forms section. In addition to the Training Evaluation Request you will need to submit proof of completion of training as well as your resume. Unless your training has been evaluated by ACE or Old Dominion University (see list below), you may be asked to submit a course syllabus, textbook and/or training materials. Evaluation is done by faculty in the appropriate department.
