COLLEGE LEVEL EXAMINATION PROGRAM

University Policy

The University will accept credit toward the degree for satisfactory performance on the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams. Minimum score requirements for each exam are set by the academic department with jurisdiction over the course involved. In some cases, a department will not accept CLEP credit for core courses in the major. All guidelines are subject to change by the academic department awarding credit. The University will accept a maximum of 60 semester hours of advanced placement toward the undergraduate degree. Students should request advanced placement credit as early as possible upon admission to degree status.

Registration

To register, please fill out the application form found HERE.  A $15.00 non-refundable registration fee must be paid to Experiential Learning and Testing Center, 138, Gornto TeleTechnet after you have registered for the test. The $15.00 fee is for one test date only. If you are unable to attend the session you marked on the application and choose to re-apply, an additional registration fee must accompany the request. Do not combine fees for multiple tests even if they are to be taken on the same day. Checks for the CLEP test fee (again, no cash) are made payable to the College Level Examination Program and are due on the day of the test. The test fee may be found in the CLEP registration bulletin. CLEP testing fee is $65.00 (all fees are subject to change).

Effective July 1, 2008, the CLEP Testing fee will increase to $70.00**

Please see the Testing Schedule for the list of testing dates.  The registration deadline for the test is ONE WEEK BEFORE the actual testing date.

Please contact the Experiential Learning and Testing Center for additional dates of testing.

Results

The multiple-choice answer sheets are scored by the CLEP Division of the Educational Testing Service (ETS) in Princeton, New Jersey. Ordinarily, scores are mailed to you and the college(s) you selected, approximately two weeks after the test. The essay exams (when required) are scored and retained by the college you designate.
