Dear Parents,
Many years ago when I was leaving for college, my mother brought me to the train station. Balancing my suitcase, I hopped aboard the train, my heart filled with hope, expectation and joy. I turned to wave and was shocked to see my mother standing there with tears in her eyes. I suddenly realized that my mother was worried about me and perhaps even sad to see me go.
I would like to reassure you, as you entrust your students to us at Old Dominion University, that they will not only have access to a fine education, but they will find a caring community here.
Welcome to our Old Dominion University family! We hope to respond to any questions and concerns you may have, to see you on parent day (or anytime you visit) and to share your pride in your students on their graduation day just a few years from now.
