About TRiO Student Support Services
TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) is the oldest retention program at Old Dominion University funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Since 1981, SSS has provided support to over 3,000 eligible students. The program is funded to provide individualized support services to students who are first in their families to attend college, from limited income families, and/or students with a disability.

Comprehensive Support
TRiO Student Support Services is a "one stop shop"! We provide comprehensive support including Academic, Financial & Personal Advising, Graduate School & Career Planning, FAFSA Assistance, Scholarship & Financial Aid Information, Limited Grant Aid, Financial & Economic Literacy, Tutoring & Mentoring, and Academic Coaching. Whether you are seeking individualized tutoring or need help completing the FAFSA, the mission of SSS is to help you succeed and graduate!
Resources
All of our services and resources are free! Students can take advantage of Seminars & Social Events, Writing & Study Skills Development, Group Study Sessions, Freshman Leadership Program, Senior Exit Skills Group, Financial Literacy Growth Group, Computer Use, Laptop Checkout, Limited Book Use, GRE Fee Reduction Codes, Graduate Exam Prep Books (LSAT, GMAT, GRE, Praxis).
